The Great Moonlight Masquerade
Today I will write down my thoughts about the Great Moonlight Masquerade, a festive event in the Faerie realms of Grenfinnan.
This masked event is majestic and opulent. Regal and whimsical. Ethereal and glamorous! And the tiny cheesecakes are simply to die for! –Which you would do. Never ever accept food in the Faerie Realm.–
Truly, the extravagance they put into it is wild! From mesmerizing costumes to floating crystal balls! It’s an event like no other! All to celebrate their sacred Moonstone, a gemstone which sits atop of the high queens tiara, glowing in the darkness.
The legends said that this stone came from the tears of the angels when they were cast out of the mortal realm, leaving beside their fae lover. It’s such a sad story, you can’t help but get teary-eyed when the children put on the reenactment.
Although this gem was once considered sacred, now it’s simply seen as tradition. And who doesn’t love a good tradition that consists of dancing, costumes, live theatre, and free food?
I was fortunate enough to participate on several occasions. Before the sacred moonstone was knicked, that is. I wonder where it ended up?
