The Cold and Curious Nor’ib
Deep in the mountainous bogs of Cirvel, lives the wooly and fluffy giant beasts, Nor’ib.
These massive creatures with antlers the size of bicycles, are actually very sweet and docile. They are gentle giants who roam the countryside, enjoying a bath in cold bogs wherever they can find them.
Curiously, the fine white hair of the Nor’ib are incredibly buoyant, completely superhydrophobic! When they bathe the water immediately beads off, leaving it dry and warm.
Even more fascinating, the Nor’ib’s wooly hairs are nearly impossible to break. In fact, when spun together into thread and loomed, the resulting fabric is both bullet and slash proof! Incredibly remarkable!
However the process of spinning and looming takes months to years! It’s a grueling job which, if you pull too tightly, can snap off a finger or two! Due to this, the fabric is rare and expensive.
I do know some people who have put this fabric to good use. After all, it’s dangerous out there for us adventurers and explorers.
Though I wonder what other amazing things could be done with such a fabric. And perhaps the Nor’ib has other uses as well?
